30 years of trying....

I have tried so many times to learn to crochet and now I've finally done it.  Can now crochet a square so my off-and-on winter project is to make a double bed sized throw of pink cotton crochet squares.  Ridiculously please with myself!

The obsession with polka dots continues....

My new teapot has a couple of drawbacks....tea poured everywhere apart from the cup  and the handle was scaldingly hot.  Never mind, sometimes it's enough just to be pretty!

Rowntree Park Reading Cafe, York

The Cafe is beautiful, it has been restored to 1930's loveliness.  The coffee is excellent, the staff are very friendly, my only criticism would be that the scone I had wasn't good, tasted shop-bought *gasp*.  Never mind, I can live with just having a coffee, browsing the selection of Library books and listening to the ducks quacking on the lake. My new favourite cafe in York.

PS if the park keeper's job ever comes up for advert, I'm in there.  Apparently the cafe's upper floor is a flat which goes with the job!

Bison Coffee House, York

A nice surprise to come across this coffee place, a little bit different for York. Good coffee and handy for work!

Tank Top Time

Quite pleased with my little hand knitted tank top, made the pattern up myself!

The Funky Mackerel Cafe

Moving a short way down the coast to Sheringham, an old-fashioned bucket-and-spade seaside town.  After a brisk walk in the driving rain, think a coffee pit-stop is needed.  The Funky Mackerel cafe set back into the sea wall is just the ticket.  It has a surfer hang out feel, a fantastic view of the sea and in addition to an interesting menu there is a little shop selling cards and vintage clothes and quirky household bits and pieces.

Coffee and cranberry flapjack which I will be attempting to recreate at home...

The Rocket House Cafe

A Sunny Sunday in Cromer

A perfect start to a little break on the North Norfolk Coast, breakfast at the Rocket House Cafe.  A fresh and bright interior with displays of local artworks.  The staff are young and friendly.

Okay, so toast and coffee isn't very imaginative, but sometimes it's what's needed......

Excellent coffee, good toast and jam and a lovely view of the sea.
